Week 8 and Week 9 - FEED ME WASHINGTON
Before we deep dive on what has happened this week and what's happening this weekend. I'd like to shout out my boy Kirko-Banz aka Kirk for typing one of these up. Much like an NFL team, I do need a bye week every once in a while to refresh and fall back in love with the game. Shout out him.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Over the last 4 years I have been an outright hater. I haven't believed in the system, I haven't seen the vision, and I haven't believed in the direction we were going. But after this week I can say for the first time in the last 4 years I maybe back in. I maybe believe that we can come together and truly move forward and prosper as one. The results have spoken for themselves thus far; and not only am I believing in one man, I am believing in the entire team he brings with him. This team is going to clean up the act of the previous regime and truly provide myself and my family a brighter future.
I now present to you the leadership I believed in 4 years ago and then lost faith but then now have full faith in again:
Note: That was a long-con which probably most of you saw through but I still laughed at writing and cropping the images.
Note2: None of what I said has any indications on my political views.
Note3: If we win this game, I am all in on the super bowl + Mike Tomlin.
Now that we got a little fun out of the way. Lets do a quick fantasy round up, into a few little thoughts on each team (which I haven't done in about 5-6 weeks), and into some rankings heading down the final stretch.
First off, holy fucking shit this league is tight tight. Trade deadline is week 11 and as we head into week 10 anyone and literally everyone can still squeak in. Looking back in the past this is by far the closest the league has been going into week 10 in the last 3 years.
Secondly,
Note: I did a lot of blackface up top, so out of fairness I went with whiteface this time.I know I'm preaching but again: You must keep 2 players on your roster going into next year and they can't have been kept last year and or drafted in the first two rounds this year. For example:
WR 6 on the year (still which includes the two games he hasn't played) Chris Godwin was on the waivers after being drafted in the 6th round who wasn't kept last year that I now can stash on my IR for the rest of the year is lowkey helpful. Now does this make me a league winner, change any real outcome for me, no, but just an example of maybe something for people to think about going forward, maybe.
Thirdly, lets breakdown some teams and my rankings:
I always type this sentence above out^ then sit about twenty minutes and go through each team to take a peak. What I have discovered is exactly what the rankings just told me.... I don't think we have a true discrepancy between these teams and everyone is still in the race to win. Like Jesus Christ this is tight in my eyes. So instead I am just breaking down teams and giving quick thoughts and you be the judge.
1.) Brian- The what was powerhouse has somewhat comeback to earth. Now not having WR6 on the year in the starting lineup is huge. I do like the the theoretical starting lineup of Love, Saquon, JT, AJ, Coleman, DK, and Juwan running out there but they can't seem to stay healthy. Brooks is back which even though Chubba oddly enough got paid to play, I think will be a dual backfield. I'm still not bought all the way in on Denver as you have Williams and Sutton. But until those boys get healthy I think this once powerhouse won't be the same.
2.) Chris - The 3 headed monster of Allen, Henry, and Kamara is still so fucking scary and I know Kirk gave you his flowers (2024) las week. FYI: Henry and Kamara are RB 1 and 2 on the year. However, the Zay Flowers, Jayden Reed, Leggette, and Pittman are so hit or miss that I don't think you're that scary.
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST JUMPSCARE. This mother fucker almost just killed me. You have 3 fucking TE's starting in your lineup this week and have 2 defenses on your roster. Holy fuck balls.
3.) Dustin - One of "if I had to actually rank teams this guy would be towards the top" teams. JK, Cook, Ajones, is a pretty damn good running back core. Sun god is sun god. But Kelce is starting to show up here at the end of the season and Darnell Mooney is actually very good. If you can get Higgins healthy (which maybe impossible) but him sliding in for Ladd (not a believer, go look at his numbers when he players real teams) makes this team scary.
PS: Tell me you've got a white pocket passer fetish without telling me you have a white pocket passer fetish: Goff and Cousins.
4.) CT, CTay, Nattyboi, Cody - Kareem Hunt legit pisses me off. Hes kept this team in the race and by golly hes gonna continue to do that. Puca the Nuka is back and Terry is showing who he is with a real QB. Kittle without Aiyuk in the lineup is legit legit. Obviously you lost Diggs and I think
JESUS FUCKING CHRIST WE GOT ANOTHER MORE THAN 1 TE STARTING LINEUP.... As I was saying I think that flex spot is iffffffyyyyy with Romeo and Julietstert.
5.) Lil Dump, Austin - Apparently Swift and Rhamondre are good and I was wrong. No doubt the Adams went back to his family and got way better. JJ is gonna JJ (remember when you almost traded him for waddle) and Brock mudderfucking Bowers is TE1 on the season. Wondale is a legit automatic ppr machine and from rags to riches my boy, I think this team is pretty god damn good.
6.) Dug, Doug- me thinks this team could be bad. But I felt bad so I put him in the "can win it all" grouping to make him feel better. With Dak probably going on IR even though he sucks, hes better than Cooper Rush which almost makes CD useless. The bears and odunze are a dumpster fire, Kyle Pitts maybe fun but im not sold sold yet. Hopkins, Najee, Jacobs, and Hurts are going to have to do the heavy lifting and I don't know if its enough. Not to mention a 31 year old receiver dealing with a hammy is no beuno.
7.) Kyle - These next two weeks are either my team is dogshit or I am good. We haven't seen the duo of Kupp or Puca to know whats going on. Brooks is finally activated and has been full time practicing and looking to get on the field. Chubby is getting back into it and now the browns oline is also getting healthy. Jamo is finally back off suspension right as he was starting to pop off. Tank Dell is back to the #2 where he thrived last year. Connor will Connor. BUT Jayden, Jamaar, and Achane are quite scary. Achane with Tua in the starting lineup hasn't scored LESS than 25 points (4 games). Unfortunately, in my opinion, a lot of my team rides with the unknown and the fire sale could be next week.
8.) Dan - Everyone, together, lets bow our heads and pray.
"Lord Heavenly Father we come to you as a group, neigh, a brotherhood, neigh, as a family to request that you spare us from this massive ball swinging silent giant that is about to mushroom stamp our foreheads. We pray to lord, that you take pity on this week's opponent Chris. Lord we know Chris is starting 3 tight ends this week and probably will see more tight ends this weekend. But spare the embarrassment that is coming his way. Lord we also pray for Lukas, we haven't gotten to his team yet but we all know his team is dogshit. Spare him in week 11. You are our light amongst the world full of darkness, and even though we are probably the main contributors to said darkness due to our foul language, nicotine addictions, alcohol addictions, and our weed intake, please forgive us. Forgive us of our sins O Lord and even though you may not spare us, please encourage Dan the be gentle when he puts massive fucking cohunes upon our foreheads dear lord. In your son's name and Allah's (because Alan) Amen."
QB - Burrow who is very pissed off
RB - CMC is back
RB - Kyren Williams
WR - Nico Collins is back (WR1 before injury)
WR - Deebo no Aiyuk
WR - Pickens w/ Russy
TE - Hockenson healthy
Flex- Pollard/Addison
---------------------------------------
He's 4-5 and getting back this week: WR1 in all of fantasy, RB1 in fantasy forever, top 5 TE.
9.) Will - Another good team in my opinion. Purdy is meh, but Monty, Walker, and Bijan have been unreal these last few weeks. Brian Thomas has been a stud but I am curious to see how he does with Mac jones. Throw Evan engram with that sentence above. Wilson has gotten way better with Adams there, Cooper will become a great with the Bills, and it will be interesting to see what Pearsall does. Truly a very balanced team and I think can be very good.
10.) Lukas - I think the food truck gang is in trouble. I think Doug's team is better than this one. You went full fountain of youth but it turns out its not reliable. I had you ranked higher throughout the year because I was a believer but now I am no longer. This team is too young and too inconsistent to let you have a chance this year.
11.) Kirk- DONT CALL IT A MOTHERFUCKING COMEBACK. Lowkey is back. Obviously I don't think Djones is the starting QB for this team but Mixon, London, Otton, Johnston, Tillman, and JSN is basically a team of the misfit toys. But when the misfits starting teaming up, they are actually pretty scary.
WE GOT ANOTHER DOUBLE TE STARTING LINEUP!!! I am not fully bought in on you yet but I will say it looks much better due to your waiver wire moves than it did earlier in the year.
12.) Alan- Someone is healthyyyyy againnnnnn. Everyone knew this team was going to be good but he's battled the injury plague and has come out at 3-6. Throw in Dowdle is finally the RB1 in Dallas and Josh Downs is a bazillion times better with Elite Flacco at QB. Because the league is actually so tight and you're now getting healthy is massive and I think keeps you in this race.
