Week 1 & 2 Review - Homeownership + Work
Week 1 & 2 Review:
Homeownership:
Think of this portion more as a journal entry for my daily journal except I don't have a journal because I am not a lil bitch (I have so many demons upstairs in my brain that I should journal because I know its healthy for you but again not a bitch). Sometimes in life we all need to vent and I am taking this opportunity to do just that. Complaining about homeownership and everything that comes with it is such a pussy thing to do. Some of you have seen in my recently if its playing soccer on Wednesdays or football Sunday last weekend (week 1) and all I've basically done is bitch about it. I'd like to be on the record and say that I am a pussy ass bitch. I am built for working in an office as salesperson. I spend my life selling you weak and feeble mutants to either take this shot, shotgun that noon, or getting that freak Austin to do stupid "you can't tackle me" bets. It took me all of 10 seconds to have Kelsey break her "dry January" and or let her 15 (?) year old niece have a few drinks last OSU Michigan game. I remember Cody being at that table mainly because you called the 15 year old a "slut".
Note: I called Austin a freak there because he wrote on my flooring before the carpet got put in "Steelers suck ass".
But holy fuck this house is a fucking battlefield, warzone, and pure chaos. I got TV's on boxes, clothes are everywhere, electrical hasn't even been started, apparently we are getting new doors now so not a single fucking door is on a hinge on the inside, no blinds on any window because we want curtains, etc etc etc. Navigating this with my beautiful, gorgeous, amazing, super Irish-catholic Italian OCD wife has been quite the experience.
Note: Apparently there is a correct way to have a shirt hung. Like the every shirt in the closet have to the face the same way on the hanger before it is allowed to be hung. Didn't know that but super super glad I have the privilege and guidance from the lovely Irish Italian catholic wife of mine.
Note 2: I did know about color coordination, type of shirt, and sections in the closet going into this wonderful experience.
So every minute I am at home I am either relaxing thinking of the next thing we need to do and or actively doing the things I need to do. Which has left me with little to no free time and I have watched hardly any football that isn't Steelers related let alone look at fantasy all too much.
Work:
As most if not all of you know; Rodney and Toddney are on a 3 week romp around in Europe. Spent last week in Spain hitting Madrid and Barcelona and now as of today in Vienna, Austria. Devin has all of his insurance licenses but has not interest and nor will do anything with the insurance side of things. He only wants/will/only do financial advising. This week we have at least one front office worker out each day. So not only am I the "boss" for the next two weeks, I am also down actual insurance secretary's/workers. TLDR: All the boys work on commission and handle their own clients, Rodney handles all the day-to-day chaos (Rodney doesn't believe in giving me the golden spoon so I have to work my ass off to obtain a plastic spoon). So I am now handling my clients, Todd's clients, Rodney's day to day work, and down a staff member every day this week. Oh and because my dad handles the commission and is now not here to pay me my commission, I'll be getting no new commission this month!! Brilliant!!
Here is how my Monday morning started at 3-4am:
Can't wait to call and ask for a $28 thousand check from Todd's client who hates us.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To conclude my journal and my bitch fest; I said all of that mainly to bitch but also to just remind everyone my fantasy football analysis and the depth of my knowledge isn't there at this time due to me having quite literally 0 time to put into it.
Week 1 & Week 2 Review:
I think the best way and or how I have it pictured in my head is to team by team say strengths/weaknesses the first two weeks and going forward. Hopefully by next blog I'll have more time to get into the nitty-gritty as we round up week 3.
Open 4 Trades - Kyle: I said this about my team going into week 1 and I am continue to say it now. My team is a bunch of teenagers that I hoping by about week 4-5 turn into adults.
Positives: Tetairoa, Emeka, and Ricky are actually coming out of the gates faster than I projected personally. The Mac Jones wrinkle certainly might not bod well for Ricky but between snap percentages and targets for all 3 I am super happy. Daniels has no indications of a sophomore slump and going against the Packers defense and getting 20 this week I think is great. Jamo was actually targeted this week 2. Skattebo is getting more field time and swooped him off waivers. Boutte I think can be WR1 for the Pats but will need time. Dak threw 52 times in a game yesterday.
Negatives: Henry getting me 2 points in a game all year is not something I had on my bingo card. Treyvon is not doing nearly as much as I thought he would be even though its this early. Bill Croskey still hasn't shown me much. Eckler tearing his ACL maybe a game changer though.
Rubber Bucky's - Dustin:
Positives: Herbert throwing 60% in this chargers offense catapults him up the standings. Bucky is everything he was last year which is great. Achane despite injuries and how fucking bad the dolphins are, is living up to where he was drafted. Coleman also looks to have made the jump to being way more productive this year 2 than before. Ferguson with back to back double digits games at TE is huge also.
Negatives: Unless the rumors of Jamies going to the bengals to help out Tee aren't true, Higgins value with no burrow is bad. Nico Collins I am very worried about. The Texans O-line is truly horrific and really is showing with Nico's numbers thus far. Najee, Kupp, and Robinson are unfortunately just still not it for me.
Joint Per Reception - Kirk:
Positives: This team is the best in the league and has shown it. Not really much to say. CMC, Jacobs, CD, JSN all living up to the name. Now that Tank is gone Etienne immediately pushes his team to the tippie top.
Negatives: Harrison still is inconsistent, which isn't really much of a negative but should be noted. QB and TE have a solid chance of being a real problem going forward. Goff will have his highs like this week but also his lows like week 1. Along with that Hockenson just isn't a starter right now. Not saying it can't turn around, but currently unplayable.
Twin Bowers - Austin:
Positives: Ummmmm. Bowers is good and Lamar in down weeks is still great.
Negatives: Even Bijan last year didn't live up to the first round grade he had. I say that because I believe the same thing is happening with Jeanty. No doubt they are world beaters but typically teams taking a RB that early need more help around them before they reach their full potential. Andrews is useless. Pacheco is in a horrific 3-way split. Hunter isn't there yet. Steelers blow fucking dick. Tracey and Skatteboo are seeing the split backfield favoring Cam this last week. Respectfully you not even putting a waiver in and then offering people more FAAB than they used prior is just throwing the towel in. Only way this is fixed is through the waivers bud.
Matt Rows a Hoe - Cody:
Positives: Jennings is back and Tucker Kraft is the best part of the receiving core of the packers thus far. I loved Meyers this year and started out hot game 1.
Negatives: This team is solely based on if Josh Allen does well and unfortunately he didn't do well this week. Swift snap percentages are going down even though he looked okay and Monty is clearly getting less and less also. Eckler tearing his ACL hurts and Terry missing all of training camp is showing with his connection with Jayden thus far.
Slay all Day - Chris:
Positives: Gotta admit when your wrong: Javontae not splitting the backfield thus far is a shocker to me. He maybe is a league winner two weeks in. Mcbride is just as solid as solid gets at the TE position. having the depth of Waddle and Allen on your bench says alot about your team.
Negatives: I am not sold on Dobbins yet. His snap percentages are still 50% and thats a bit scary going forward. Chase will be impacted by burrow and Kelce may have to take a seat on the bench going forward. Kyren also being actually not great with the Rams offense is a bit scary not going to lie.
Gridiron Geriatrics - Alan:
Positives: Amon ra, JT, meh Kamara, Adams all showing out. I think Adams and Kamara maybe more hit or miss but still old and good. Mahomes is actually putting up great points and using his legs to do so. As long as teams allow him to use his feet hes a great QB for fantasy.
Negatives: Ajones now has a hammy at 100 years old is not great. Njoku with Fannin is a different element we didn't really project going into the year. This Eagles offense is terrible for Smith and Connor is only getting 50% of the snaps which is not what you want out of a guy drafted in the 3rd round. I can't say this about everyone but I am shocked a bit by the depth available for you. Compare your bench to Chris's for example. Maybe hit the waiver wire aggressively coming up.
Jahmyr-acle on 34thstreet - Lukas:
Positives: Deebo and Jaylen Warren were risky picks but are turning out to be league winners. I so far have been very wrong on James cook... 50% of the snaps but 3 touchdowns through 2 weeks. Compared to Kyren who I would've taken ahead of cook. Nabers looks pretty good thus far but I don't think this Russ experiment/Dart experiment is over yet. Gibbs is balling out which we all knew was going to happen. Not to mention the Ayomanor/Golden/Thorton young bench that I think will be great but needs time.
Negatives: Kaleb Johnson won't be in a steeler uniform come week 3. Sampson is now in a 3 party commitee backfield. This Bo Nix and Sutton combo that I loved is getting to be extremly scary if Bo is going to full sophmore slump in front of out eyes. The lions continue to not use laporta (I hated this pick and mentioned it last blog) and I think you may need to find a new TE.
Wynona Judkins- Doug:
Positives: Judkins isn't suspended yet and actually looked good against the ravens. Saquon will saquon.
Negatives: Your team is going to be the hit or miss team of the year. When they hit you win games aka against me last week, but holy fuck if they miss, they really miss. The solution is maybe packaging for some trades and or waivers but until then here you are.
Willson's Book club - Brian: I think this is a great time to explain his team name to our peers along with asking help from our peers. First, Brian as we all know has done the majority of the painting for our house. For two weeks he got the bird eye view of Kath and I's interactions/marriage. Which during the very hectic painting and getting the house livable portion of the homeowners grind, Brian laughed pretty hard at the fact that I was upset that I was working on the house late one Wednesday night while Kath was not there. Not that I particularly care about who does what for the house, but more as I was grinding my life a way to move into this house, Kath decided book club was important than working at the house. As I expressed my frustration with attending a 4 hour book club while I was on my hands and knees painting trim, Brian thought it was hilarious. Secondly, as you know we did an old school barter of hottub for painting. We will need help moving said hottub and will be looking for volunteers to help with that process.
Positives: Hubbard and Puca are awesome. Benson is splitting the work with Connor which is a huge development moving forward. Odunze looks like clearly the best receiver on the Bears and starting out year 2 super strong.
Negatives: Every QB that touches your roster dies. Purdy now Fields. Chase Brown has not been what we expected and certainly iffy with no Burrow. Olave is olaving. London hasn't been good and Engram is droppable at this point. Lots of "worries" but your 2-0 and have not much to complain about.
Team Danielmiller3639 - Dan:
Positives: Squeaked out a win this week. Tyler Warren is the real deal and Pickens is coming on here in week 2. Tyreek kinda showed up? Mason is now the RB1 and I think will ball while Jones is hurt.
Negatives: Dj Moore is WR2 on this Bears offense, Breece Hall and Tony Pollard are just on inconsistent/bad teams which impacts them. The "JJ's" experiment isn't over but looks like its going to take way longer than I expected. Burrow is out until Decemeber. Chubb is 50% split backfield behind the worst o-line in the nfl by miles.
Bonnie Blue-42 - Will:
Positives: Bijan. Still winnable week 2. Bench has depth.
Negatives: The most correct I've been about a few players thus far. I have AJ Brown not being a top receiver, Ladd falling, and BTJ falling also. If you don't win here and start 0-2 while have 3 2nd round picks jesus christ. You got the running backs but you maybe dealing some of them for some WR's. Also This Philly team is going to the run the ball and play defense. Which jurts AJ/Jalen. Not to bring it up but they are playing the Rams, TB, Denver, Giants, Vikings in a row which are all tough defenses.
