Winners Win, Losers Lose
With Greetings,
This week is going to be a bit different as I do have a lot to say about:
1.) I think I stand with Putin on this war.
2.) Anything in a grocery store that says "sale" and or "max" is a must-buy.
3.) Running out of Mac-n-Cheese in 3 hours is a 1-star yelp review.
But I feel like each of those topics speaks for itself and let's just get into the nitty-gritty of the
"winners win, losers lose" of this week.
Much like the NFL this week, the favored teams did just simply win. You have your rare occurrences of the Jags or Giants with the upset, but this week if you were projected to win, you won. As we go through the rankings this week I will give a "winner" from each team and a "loser".
#1.) Douglas DD, Dug (5-0) - Cody: What the fuck.
#2.) Hot Dug's - Doug: After 15 name changes he finally settled on one that makes sense. The guy is red hot and I don't think he's stopping anytime soon. The winner for this team is Josh Jacobs with back-to-back 30 bombs. I was low on him from the get-go of the season because McDaniels brought a few running backs with him to Vegas and has always been a split-share RB coach. Even though much like most Belichick disciples he sucks as a coach, he at least is sticking with Jacobs as the solo guy. The only loser I forsee him having is inconsistency at WR and debating which QB to play when the time comes.
PS: Swift isn't back yet for this team.
#3.) A Fierce Breeze (4-1) - Kyle: Back on track. The winners here are simple: Runningbacks were the question mark on the team going into the year and they now are both top 10 in scoring for runningbacks. The big issue here for this team is the loser. Trading away depth and really committing to Pittman who has been a "loser" these last few weeks could be an issue in the long run (I am still a believer for the record).
#4.) Joint Per Reception (3-2) - Kirk: For the first time ever he didn't fly around on the leaderboards. The winner for Kirk this week is his brain and actually caring. Making good trades, good drafting, and good waiver wire pickups are really why he's up here. I was super high on Eckler coming into this year and he's been able to build out a bench with depth to provide him with material to trade or play on bye weeks. Much like Doug, I do think the loser of this team is finding the right WRs week to week. He has a ton of #2 guys in my eyes and no real #1.
#5.) Scam Fakers (3-2) - Matt: I guess enjoy the flowers again or just keep them? Matt isn't just barely squeaking by people, he's hammering them with monster numbers now back-to-back weeks. Winners on this team are to: keep doing what you're doing/not doing? Unfortunately, a pretty big loser on dropping K Walker two days before penny hits the IR along with 0 help from WR's not named Justin Jefferson.
#6.) In Chase we Trust (2-3) - Lukas: I don't think I have ever said this in my life when it comes to fantasy football... But a winner on this team is an injury? With Harris out and I believe Stevenson is the better back and now will have all the carries on a very run-heavy patriots team. Along with that, Godwin is working himself back into form which to me means: Sun God, Godwin, and Chase may be the top core in the league now at receiver. I do say all of that but like come on... It's fantasy 1 oh 1 to not start 88 people in the same game in case that game turns to shit (Lions/Patriots) which it did. Also, I know we give people the raz of "worst pick in the draft", but Waller is quickly becoming that.
#7.) Slay all Day (2-3) - Chris: Instead of continuing my weekly "once his team gets healthy they will be winning more games" mantra I use every week. I will say the winner for you is that Saquon and Chubb are as Austin says drinking a Hyper Viper (4 loko and malt 40 mixed) while walking home from a party full of frat bros attempting to be cool/act tough while playing drinking games while drunk hitting on chicks "him". The loser for you is the injury god. If Kennan and or MT do not come back by the time Dhop is back, I think Marquis loses half of his targets, and having him and Wilson being the starters could mean trouble.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe a welcome too early to the toilet bowl, toilet bowl teams. Idk how playoff structure or even how many teams make it but god damn do I wanna play one of these teams in the playoff's first round.
#8.) Hide and Go Zeke (1-4) - Austin: You've put yourself in a hole here bud. My winners though it may not seem like many are here but: Tyreek will have Tua back soon, Kamara is full go again, Zeke has 20+ carries with the lions/bears on the horizon, and Zappe might make Meyers playable. Losers: Lamar has had two rough fantasy goes against two good defenses with more tough ones coming up. Kirk hasn't been good these last two weeks and you have no real bench to help with bye weeks/injuries.
#9.) Team Kamel3481 (2-3) - Will: The winner for you is your 2-3 and Dk Metcalf is the real deal. A loser is your team may not be alive in time to actually make the playoffs. You only drafted two running backs much like myself but they are now dead and Dhop isn't back yet to save the day. I do think if you can survive until Cpat and Dhop comeback you have a chance to stay alive, but poor drafting/non-real wavier wire moves leave your depth/bench looking like shit for even bye weeks.
#10.) My Goodies (2-3) - Alan: The winner is I don't think AJ and Waddle (when healthy) will score this low again all year but things are not going well other than them. Losers are drafting any offensive players on the Broncos, Aj dillion stinks, Dobbins (when playing a good defense stinks/Gus is almost back), and Olave with a concussion may be out for longer than a week because he wobbled more than Chris at your wedding.
PS: Contact: (419)-279-2240 with any complaints when you have to start Kirk Cousins this upcoming week.
#11.) Sunday Cook Out (1-4) - Dustin: I don't know where to begin so I will start with the ending. Your team fucking sucks. Robinson is back to splitting carries (which I thought he was as Doug Marone is a split back kind of coach), anti-halloween (get it) Terry has one of the worst yard separations for a starting WR in the NFL, Theilan/Lazard is the #1 schtick is super fun and cut but completely untrue, and lastly, you traded your arguably best player in Fournette for Courtland Sutton. Update on the trade: Sutton so far has had 12 points and Fournette has 35 points. Lastly, if you count this as winning: Dalvin cook played the bears so he got some points this week.
#12.) Thicccstoge (1-4) - Brian: Some things are bigger than sports. I believe I speak for all of us in saying "congrats" again this weekend. The beautiful thing about a league like this is it gives us more opportunities for us all to be connected to some extent and celebrate good times like this. I was right when saying "Brian loves love".
Another week down boys, which means bye weeks are here and rosters need to start shaping up because it's now crunch time for teams to make the playoffs.
My Brain,
